The Space
The Space Theatre is located on the Isle of Dogs in London, England. Originally a Presbyterian Church, it was taken over by the St. Paul's Arts Trust in 1989, and today works to bring theatre to the community. It not only rents out its hall to new artists, but also holds workshops, readings, and classes for members of the community who wish to involve themselves in theatre.
As a Marketing and Production Intern for The Space, my duties were varied. I helped organize storage areas, prepared the performance hall for that evening's shows, and recorded livestreamed performances. I was also on hand to assist with any of the lighting and sound needs that visiting theatre companies had, and I ran the lighting and sound boards for the Autumn Season Launch event. My other main jobs were to communicate with artists and directors about their upcoming performances and hall rentals, update The Space's website with new performance detailes, edit their in-house podcast titled "SpaceChats," and create the covers for each episode.
I have attached the episodes I edited below and created a small photo gallery from my time there.
