The Thanksgiving Play
by Larissa FastHorse

When a troupe of really, really well-meaning theater artists attempt to put on a culturally sensitive Thanksgiving school pageant, things get messy. A wickedly funny satire from Larissa FastHorse.

The Thanksgiving Play was my first sound design for Arizona Repertory Theatre. It was performed in rep with The Laramie Project, so there were some constraints that I had to pay special attention to; speaker placement was the biggest one of these. The sound designer for The Laramie Project and I worked together to form a surround system that benefitted both of us.

My other duties beyond the system design were to develop a pre-show playlist, find and create the special effects, maintain an accurate cue sheet, and communicate with the stage manager and director about sound needs.

Below, I've attached examples of my work on this show including my final presentation, my cue sheet, and a link to the pre-show playlist on YouTube.
