As A2 for Sweeney Todd, my responsibilities included rigging and painting (if necessary) the microphones, microphone maintenance, and facilitating mic changes. I also helped actors get into their mics when needed, particularly for those wearing hats. During the show, I monitored the microphones to ensure they were working and that there were no issues. I was also on hand to fix any issues that the A1 noticed from FOH.

My goal for this production was to hide the microphones as much as I could; as many of the male cast members had very short hair and wore several hats throughout the show, this was a challenge. I painted several of their mic cables so that they blended in with their hair better, and positioned their mics so that they were above their ears and along their hairline. For the women, I was able to hide many of their microphones in their pin curls, making it so that their mics were fairly invisible to the audience.
